Some information about the prototype:

The six-axle electric locomotives of Class E 669.1 have proven themselves for more than half a century in heavy freight service. They were developed from the two prototypes of Class E 660.0, with the aim of avoiding the need for double-heading on freight trains. Delivered by Škoda to the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) in the early 1960s, the total of 150 units built were used on the DC network in the north and east of the former Czechoslovakia. With the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993, the entire class, now designated as Class 181, was transferred to the new Czech Railways (ČD). Even today, five examples are still in service as banking engines under the banner of ČD Cargo.

Our prototype: E669.112 from the Česká Třebová depot
