Einige Informationen zu Vorbild und Modell:

In 2011, the Deutsche Bahn AG assigned Siemens Mobility with the construction of up to 300 new high-speed trains for use in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The new BR 412/812 multiple units, which were jointly developed by Siemens and Bombardier, will be powered by several so-called powercars. The train configuration provides for various modular units ranging from five-car to 14-car trains. The maximum speed is 250 km/h. The outer shape is based on the existing ICE fleet. Since December 2017, the first trains have been in regular service on the Hamburg-Würzburg, Stuttgart-Munich and Hamburg-Berlin-Munich lines.

The true-to-scale ICE 4 of the DB AG is the model railway highlight of the year from PIKO! The impressive model of the high-speed train convinces with an exact implementation of the striking housing shape and all important details up to the perfectly formed bogie replicas. The two powerful 5-pole motors with their flywheel masses ensure excellent driving characteristics.

With the PIKO SmartDecoder 4.1 PIN20, an optimal decoder for the PIKO ICE 4 multiple-unit trains has also been developed that fully meets the requirements of the excellently replicated high-speed train and does not require any further function decoders for light changes and slider switches. Without these features, it would not be possible, for example, to operate the multi-part vehicles on many AC systems. The decoder of the PIKO ICE 4 also features all the standards of our PIKO SmartDecoder 4.1 series, such as: a 1.2A total power load; the data formats DCC 14 - 128 including RailCom Plus®. The factory-installed PIKO SmartDecoder 4.1 PIN20 in the AC versions additionally feature mfx capability for appropriately equipped digital central stations; extended speed step curve for 28 speed steps; 3 adjustable starting and braking delays for various load simulations; 2 motor control types for precise motor control with robust load control. In addition, a SUSI socket is available on the decoder, to which a PIKO sound module (#56429 with ICE4 sound) can be connected directly or is already connected in the high-end version with sound. The interior lighting; which is pre-fitted in the sound versions, the obligatory driver's cab lighting and the tail lights, which operate depending on the direction of travel, can be controlled digitally with the PIKO SmartDecoder 4.1 PIN20.

Why the model should not be missing on your layout:

The PIKO ICE 4 impresses with the excellent paintwork and printing PIKO is known for, removable front caps for coupling two multiple units, realistically different versions of the cars, current consumption from all the wheels of the end cars and a detailed, lovingly designed interior which can be accentuated by the interior lighting.

With the detailed ICE 4, PIKO offers a modern, finely detailed and operational model of the new flagship of the DB AG. The PIKO ICE 4 can be used from radius R2 due to the often desired and consistently implemented scale of the train, without having to rework the bogies or find chipped-off details on the model railway layout after every turn. Realistic speeds, even on inclines, are easily possible even with longer units thanks to the sophisticated drive concept with two motors. The basic units can be supplemented by the additional wagon sets #58590 DC/58591 AC and the single wagon 58592 DC /58593 AC which are additionally offered
